INNOFLUOR® Certican® (everolimus)® Assay System The first immunoassay for the measurement of blood levels of everolimus.
Everolimus is the active ingredient of Certican®, the first drug in its class to be approved for both heart and kidney transplant patients. Certican®, Novartis Pharmaceuticals’ new proliferation signal inhibitor with immunosuppressant properties, is used in combination with low dose cyclosporine.
This new Innofluor® Certican® Immunoassay*, developed by Seradyn, is based on the fluorescence polarization principle using an automated immunoassay format. It will be initially available in Germany in late March, and throughout the rest of Europe coinciding with Novartis’ launch of Certican®.
Seradyn’s president, Mark Roberts, Ph.D. comments, “ The Innofluor® Certican® assay is the fifteenth Innofluor TDM now available from Seradyn and marks the culmination of a successful collaboration between Seradyn and our partner, Novartis Pharmaceuticals. Based on the ease of use, this new assay offers a powerful new tool to aid the transplant support team in optimal patient management. ”
The Innofluor® Certican® assay is a whole blood immunoassay that can be performed in less than one hour. All reagents, calibrators and control sets are ready-to-use, providing the lab with a simple standardized system for precise, rapid everolimus level measurement in any setting. “Clinical studies have shown accurate, reproducible results in testing centers around the world,” said, Lili Arabshahi, Ph.D., Vice President of Strategic Product Development, at Seradyn.
